Man Sentenced for Role in Georgia Drug Trafficking Conspiracy after Pleading Guilty

According to officials from the U.S. Attorney General’s Office, Justin Wayne Fields, aged 40, has recently been sentenced for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy in Georgia.

Fields received a 168-month prison term after pleading guilty to counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and heroin. Additionally, he was fined $2,500 and will face three years of supervised release upon completing his prison term.

Fields, along with other co-defendants, was charged with conspiring with an inmate in a Georgia state prison to facilitate methamphetamine and heroin shipments from Atlanta to Richmond and Emanuel Counties, as reported by officials. The U.S. Attorney’s office noted that the investigation led to the arrest and federal imprisonment of more than a dozen defendants.

Officials stated that the remaining co-defendants have already pleaded guilty and received sentences. Among those who pleaded guilty are:

– Jason Dwayne Wheatley, 42, sentenced to 240 months

– Joshua Brooks Woodward, 30, sentenced to 134 months
