An Omaha man said “adrenaline took over” in the moment when he tackled one of the suspects in the shooting at the Chiefs Super Bowl celebration in downtown Kansas City Wednesday.

Paul Contreras, a 46-year-old from South Omaha who lives in Bellevue, said he and his three daughters traveled to Kansas City Wednesday morning to attend the Super Bowl parade and rally. As they were preparing to leave the event, they began to hear what they thought were fireworks outside Union Station.
The gunfire wounded 21 and has left one woman dead. At least eight children were among those who received gunshot wounds. Three people were taken into custody though details remain unclear on possible motives.
