KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Investigators and the family of the victim badly injured by a hit-and-run in the Old City on Sunday are asking for help to locate the suspect who fled the scene.

“It was heartbreaking. I immediately came to the hospital,” Jessica Fernandez, the victim’s cousin, said.

Fernandez said her cousin had just ordered food at DaVinci’s Pizza before she was struck while waiting to return home in front of the restaurant on Central Street.

“It’s unfortunate. It’s so sad and you would think that the police down there, there would be more on a Saturday night or that late,” Fernandez said.
