ENGLEWOOD — Firefighters are battling a brush fire behind the Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park San Casa Drive on Thursday evening.
Fire crews from the Englewood Area Fire Control District, the Florida Division of Forestry and other agencies are at the scene, trying to keep the fire from spreading.
Other smaller fires have been reported in the area, possibly set by embers that are being sent airborne by the fire.
The Englewood Cats organization canceled all football and cheer practice at the park due to the fire.
