Homicide suspect also killed horse in Pierce County as ‘sacrifice to Odin,’ charges say

A Snohomish County man arrested in a King County double homicide also has been charged in the December killing of a Pierce County horse.

Three men are suspected of fatally shooting 57-year-old Robert Leroy Frederick Riley and 34-year-old Ashley Nichole Williams on Nov. 16, 2023, in an unincorporated part of King County. The victims’ bodies were found under blue tarp and a gray blanket on the side of the road near Maple Valley, according to King County charging documents.

Riley suffered a gunshot wound to the collarbone. Williams was stabbed about 20 times and shot twice, documents show.

Joshua Jones, 34, was arrested in King County and Brandon Gerner, 40, was arrested in Tacoma last week for the homicides, court records show.

A third person, Kody Olsen, 45, was suspected of participating in the homicides. Olsen died Dec. 16 after he was involved in a shooting with Pierce County Sheriff’s Department deputies four days before. Olsen failed to stop for deputies for driving under the influence. A pursuit began where he allegedly shot at deputies who fired back, a previous News Tribune story reported .
