Riverview Activities Center future home for new North Augusta Miracle Field

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF)- The RECing Crew held a groundbreaking for a new adaptive park in North Augusta.

“It’s making individuals– of all ages whether it’s adults, children of all ages that have a disability– feel like they can still be in the ballpark…,” Kim Smith said.

A project that started with RECing Crew founder Pamela Stickler.

“We are gonna still be looking for donors for phase two and in phase two we have…”

It’s now come to fruition all thanks to those who believed in her miracle vision.

“They played within another miracle league field within Augusta, and we thought wouldn’t it be neat if we had one in our own backyard. I’m a big believer, everybody should be able to play as close to home as they can. So, going in front of city council and asking for a proposal to use this area– this land and then when they passed in June 2021, then we started the campaign to raise the funds for the field,” Stickler said.

Phase One of construction is beginning and includes turf for two baseball diamonds, fencing, accessible dugouts and bleachers. One mother says the new North Augusta Miracle League multi-purpose field will help remind everyone about the importance of inclusivity.
