The Plano Animal Shelter is running a special offer for pet owners to neuter their male cats at a cost of just 5 cents. This low-cost neutering program, open to all and not just Plano residents, is designed to reduce the number of unwanted litters. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, from 8 am to 6 pm at the shelter. Appointments are necessary.
The shelter is also offering low-cost spaying and neutering options for dogs. Pet owners interested in these services can book their appointment by calling 972-769-4360.
To be eligible for the neutering program, cats must be at least 8 weeks old and weigh a minimum of 2.5 pounds. Owners must bring their pets in a plastic pet carrier, marked with their contact information. Proof of rabies and FVRCP vaccinations is required, but these can be administered on-site for an extra charge.
The shelter is also offering a microchip implantation service for $10 during the appointment. This optional service can help in tracking and identifying pets.
