Couple brings steakhouse concept to West Toledo

Husband and wife team, Megan and Jeff Dinnebeil still felt like they had a story to tell after leaving the Benchmark Restaurant group in Perrysburg.

The co-owners described their new dining experience, The Standard, 5333 Monroe St., Suite 22/23, in West Toledo, as a modern American Bistro style restaurant with a focus on high-quality steaks.

The space was formerly occupied by Mancy’s Ideal, which closed last month.

Both Megan and Jeff grew up in Sylvania and met in the area, making this moment in their careers very full-circle.

“We wanted to come back [to Sylvania] and open a more intimate, more emotionally driven restaurant that we were able to really connect with,” Jeff, co-owner and executive chef of The Standard, said. “And this spot really fits that.”

The name of the restaurant honors the teams’ past at Benchmark, while looking to the future of The Standard.

The duo coined the start of The Standard as their next chapter, carrying on their intentions of good quality food and genuine hospitality in this space just like they did their last.
