The Polk County Housing & Neighborhood Development (HND) Office in Bartow, Florida, is accepting applications for Public Services and Homeless Services for the 2024-25 fiscal year. The funds will come from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). A required workshop will be held on February 21, 2024, to help applicants.

The workshop will be in Room 413 of the County Administration Building. The HND is looking for organizations that can run programs for public/homeless services that meet community needs. These needs include services for the disabled, child abuse prevention, homeless aid, support for domestic violence victims, youth and senior services, health services, and job and skills training for low-income individuals and households.

Polk County plans to award around $600,000 from the CDBG and up to $320,000 from the ESG, depending on available funds. Nonprofits interested in using these funds for public/homeless services programs are invited to apply.
