Three local restaurateurs were arrested Monday on charges of violating the state food and drug law by the alleged sale of adulterated milk. They were arrested on complaint of William L. Waltman, who alleged they sold glasses of milk from which part of the cream had been removed.
They were: Peter J. Theodore, manager of the Boston Cafe; Gus Warren, manager of the Belmont Cafe; and Nick Coroneous, manager of the Orient Cafe. The trio pleaded not guilty when arraigned before Judge William Steinkohl of municipal court.
A large number of complaints by women who are accosted by auto flirts have been received by the police department recently.
Police officials urge that women who are accosted by the motorists complain to the authorities, obtain the license number of the automobiles in which the offenders ride, so that the officers may take steps toward their apprehension.
It is nearly impossible to trace such drivers when the officers do not know the license numbers and have only a general description of the car. — Friday, Feb. 22, 1914
