LOUISIANA ( KLFY ) — After five months, the search for missing St. Martin Parish man Willard Daspit Jr. continues in Lafayette. His wife, Lara Daspit, took it upon herself to expand the search for her husband, using billboards across the city to get his face out to the public more.
“I believe this will [work],” she said. “This is going to reach enough people and get enough people talking that somebody is going to know and have heard something.”

If you drive down Johnston St. by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s campus, and down Ambassador Caffery near Acadiana Lanes, you will notice digital billboards displaying Willard Daspit Jr.’s face. As News 10 first reported, he went missing without a trace on the morning of Sept. 10, 2023. Lara hopes getting his face out in populated areas will help reach someone who can bring him home or give her some closure.
“He’s been my best friend for over 36 years since we’ve been together 20,” she said. “We just had our anniversary, November 27.”
