The Riverside County Waste Resources Department advises residents to avoid disposing of hazardous waste items in regular trash. Instead, they should bring these items to a free collection event. The City of Corona is hosting this event on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24, 2023. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City Hall parking lot. All residents of the City of Corona and Riverside County are welcome.
The event allows residents to dispose of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronic Waste (E-Waste). Each car can bring up to fifteen gallons of hazardous liquid waste or a total of 125 pounds per trip. Multiple trips are permitted, but guidelines must be followed. These include keeping original labels on containers and not mixing materials.
Residents can dispose of items such as latex paints, pesticides, oils, solvents, cleansers, antifreeze, used oil and filters, aerosol cans, chlorine, BBQ propane tanks, household and automotive batteries, and Sharps at the event. Sharps must be in sealed hard plastic containers. E-Waste items include monitors, computers, televisions, and other electronic items.
