Nantell was found guilty of one count of deprivation of civil rights due to his failure to intervene during the assault of the inmate, alongside two counts of obstruction for deceiving state investigators, and one count for making false statements to an FBI special agent. This case has seen six other officers, previously pleading guilty, contributing to a broader narrative of abuse and misconduct within the correctional system.
