Fish has been charged with child abuse resulting in death, child abuse resulting in injury, and two counts of child endangerment in Jackson County.

Court records say Fish called 911 in November 2022 and said one of her children had been dead for several days and the other was unresponsive.

Police discovered the 4-year-old dead inside a bedroom among trash, debris and old food. Her twin sister was malnourished and unresponsive when first responders arrived.

Court documents say the Kansas City mom previously lost custody of the children in 2018 after she was convicted of assaulting an officer. Records indicate Fish had untreated substance abuse issues and had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and a psychotic disorder.
