Drug trafficking admission costs Greece man $336K in assets: Jewelry, cash and SUV surrendered

A Greece man has had to give up nearly $246,000 in jewelry and watches, more than $90,000 in cash and an SUV as part of his admission that he trafficked cocaine and fentanyl.

A federal judge this week sentenced Darnell Manning, 40, to just over 14 years in prison for his role in a local drug ring.

“On March 9, 2023, investigators searched numerous locations in Rochester maintained by Manning and utilized for distributing narcotics,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Marangola, police and federal agents seized about 2.6 kilograms, or nearly six pounds, of cocaine, about 123 grams of crack cocaine, 803 fentanyl tablets, two loaded firearms, ammunition, $87,290 in cash, and jewelry with an appraised value of $246,000.

Manning also forfeited a 2022 Infiniti QX55 sport utility vehicle.

Manning pleaded guilty to the crimes late last year. According to court papers, Manning grew up in a home that was beset by drug addiction, and he himself turned to drugs at an early age.
