Insane Crips gang member testifies against other Insane Crips in 2021 Wilson murder trial

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — A Columbus criminal street gang member spent parts of two days testifying against other gang members in a murder trial.

On Friday, Elysia Cooley – a member of the Insane Crips, that operated in East Columbus — wrapped up her testimony.

Cooley jury that the 2021 Wilson Apartments murder of Marcel Samedi happened during what she called a “C-call.”

Crips members from Dimonwood, East Wynton and Wilson Apartments were gathering to hammer out a dispute.

At times in her more than four hours of testimony, Cooley was matter-of-fact about gang language, gang operations, gang members and how it all worked.

She didn’t back or way or get amnesia on the tough questions.

At other times she was emotional.

Davion Dupas, Corey Troupe Jr., and Jeheim Davis are on trial, facing gang and murder charges in Samedi’s death.

Cooley would have been at the defense table with her three friends she says were also in the Insane Crips has she not agreed to testify for the state the week before the trial began.
