Vampire Weekend announces tour, which includes a stop in Iowa, ahead of album release

American rock band Vampire Weekend has announced a huge 2024 North American tour kicking off in April along with dropping two new tracks, “Capricorn” and “Gen-X Cops.” Both appear on their forthcoming fifth studio, “Only God Was Above Us,” which will be released on April 5.

The New York-based band will make 44 stops on the “Only God Above Us Tour.” Five tour stops are at music festivals, including the Hinterland Music Festival in Saint Charles. The “Only God Above Us Tour” is the band’s first major tour since 2019.

Vampire Weekend will be the headlining act for night two of Hinterland, marking their first time stopping at the indie music festival.

Who else plays on day two of Hinterland?

Along with the indie rockers, Lizzy McAlpine, a singer-songwriter, will also perform on Saturday of the festival. Saturday’s lineup also features country artist Charley Crockett, Alabama-based group Red Clay Strays, Los Angeles singer-songwriter Madison Cunningham, folk-rock ensemble Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners, singer-songwriter Blondshell (Sabrina Teitelbaum), and Vermont singer-songwriter Hans Williams.
