As we enter the Lenten season, Catholics are preparing for their first night of fish dinners. Local churches are preparing for crowds of hundreds of people for their introductory fish dinners.
Lent is here and Friday marked the first day of fish frys for many parishes around the region.

The annual fish fry helps to promote the church, fellowship, and community as well as providing a delicious home-style meal that many people look forward to.
One parishioner has been cooking for years and says he returns because of his loyalty to the church.
“It’s a fundraiser that I can’t let drop,” said Michael Twaroski, All Saints Church parishioner. “Each week we picked up more people more people more people so we decided to continue to carry it on and we serve on average about 300 people a week.
Volunteers at Saint Stanislaus and All Saints Parish have taken the last couple of weeks to prepare the main entree along with all the savory sides.
