Do you like Kalbi? What about Sushi? Well, why not both, because Honu’s Kalbi and Sushi in Kapahulu now has new combos.
Manager, Dong Hyeon, shared the story behind Honu’s Kalbi and Sushi.
“We started as Ahi & Vegetable, but we sold the business and started Honu’s Kalbi and Sushi just last year summer in Kapahulu. From this month we changed our business hours to 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. We are the only restaurant in that building with a terrace. We are a bring your own bottle establishment, we don’t charge a corkage fee. Our meat is all choice grade and our ahi is from the auction every morning. Our ahi is from Hawaii and our Hamachi is from Japan. We believe we have very affordable prices with huge portions. We started a new combo Kalbi and Sushi, Kalbi and Poke, Kalbi and California Roll, but also a Korean’s favorite combo, Kalbi and Naengmyeon (buck wheat cold noodle). We also sell some Korean banchan.”
The team started selling Kalbi and Sushi specialties when a customer suggested to create a combination of both.
