Karaoke showdown kicks off at Rooster’s Honkytonk in downtown Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Rooster’s Honkeytonk Singer Showdown has officially kicked off.

Seven karaoke contestants sang their hearts out at the honkytonk Thursday night in downtown Bakersfield. The competition is set to last five weeks, and up to two contestants are eliminated each week.

Temblor Brewing Company to offer cocktails, mixed drinks this spring

Celebrity judges are also involved in the singing competition, including 17’s Robert Price.

The winner of the competition will get $500 and a recording session. Additionally, the winner’s song will played on the radio station 103.7 Outlaw Radio Country.
