Portland Police identify pedestrian killed in hit-run crash on 82nd Avenue

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – More than a week after a deadly hit-and-run crash on 82nd Avenue led to a driver’s arrest , authorities have identified the pedestrian killed on the road.

Police say Edward Hanson, 44, died on Feb. 5 when a car hit him while he was crossing Southeast 82nd Avenue in the mid-block area connected to the intersection of Flavel Street.

The next day, officers arrested Portland resident Skyler Lee-Stiles , 26, in connection to the crash. Investigators say Lee-Stiles was “speeding through a work zone” and left the scene before officers arrived.

Lee-Stiles faces charges of criminally negligent homicide, failure to perform the duties of a driver (death), and tampering with evidence. His vehicle has been seized as evidence.
