KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Less than two years after opening, a Knoxville deli has landed on USA Today’s 2024 Restaurants of the Year list .
Potchke, a Jewish deli with Ukrainian influences that opened in March 2022 , was one of 47 restaurants from across the nation to earn the honor. Locust in Nashville was the only other Tennessee eatery to make this year’s list.

“ POTCHKE means to fuss around in the kitchen, to dwaddle, to waste time. and that’s precisely what we’re here to do ,” the home page of their website reads .
The restaurant is located in suite 103 of the Regas Building at 318 North Gay St. The space was formerly occupied by Vienna Coffee Company.

Weeks before the the restaurant officially opened, it raised approximately $5,000 for the Ukraine people of Ukraine .
