An individual has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a property rental company representative and defrauding people. The Financial Crimes Unit started an investigation into the case in January 2024, following reports of fraudulent activities. The suspect, 32-year-old Justina Boggs, is accused of taking deposits from people online and then ceasing all contact.

A warrant for Theft by Deception over $1,000 was issued for Boggs. She was also listed as a wanted person by Bluegrass Crime Stoppers on January 25, 2024. Boggs was arrested on February 10, 2024, after a domestic disturbance at a Coburn Drive residence.

Boggs faces additional charges related to the domestic incident. Financial Crimes detectives also charged her with Theft by Deception $500-$1,000. These charges suggest that Boggs may have defrauded individuals of large sums of money through her alleged property rental scam.

The investigation into Boggs’ actions continues. Detectives encourage anyone with information about the case to contact the Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600. They are especially interested in speaking with individuals who may have fallen victim to Boggs’ alleged fraud.
