Shockers plate 18 in Opening Day win at Little Rock

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita State University Shockers started the Brian Green era with a blowout win over Little Rock on Friday, 18-5.

Starting pitcher Caden Favors threw 5 2/3rds innings, giving up four runs on seven hits while striking out eight. All four of those runs came in the bottom of the sixth inning, as he threw five scoreless frames prior to that.

There was no problems with the offense Friday, as the Shockers scored in all but two frames in the contest. Seth Stroh hit 3-of-6, recording a three-run home run, a triple, and seven RBI.

Domestic violence incident leads to standoff

As a team, the Shockers produced 15 hits while only striking out nine times in the game.

The Shockers quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and piled it on in the next three, scoring three, two, and one runs in the second, third, and fourth innings.

A scoreless fifth gave way to another crooked inning for the Shockers as they plated four runs, but Little Rock would respond in the bottom of the sixth with four runs of its own.
