Judge rejects man’s request to take back guilty plea, sends man to prison for Solvay killing

Solvay, N.Y. — A Syracuse man was sentenced to prison Friday for the murder of a man inside a Solvay home after a judge rejected his request to withdraw his guilty plea. Curtis Hudgins, 34, previously pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was promised a sentence of 20 years to life. He was set to be sentenced in December but the case was delayed after he requested to withdraw his plea.
