The Capital City Youth Committee invites Mid-Willamette Valley teenagers to the ILEAD Youth Leadership Summit on Saturday, March 2, 2024. The event will take place at the Knudson Branch of the Boys & Girls of Salem, Marion, and Polk Counties. It will offer workshops on college and career readiness, financial literacy, health, and leadership. The summit is free for all high school-aged teens in the region.

The summit will host various workshops and speakers from Oregon State University, Oregon Native American Education Foundation, Goodwill Industries, Salem Health, Western Oregon University, and South Salem High School students. The goal is to prepare teenagers for life after high school.

The teen committee, including Henry Baker and Sofia Castellanos, both 11th graders at West Salem High School and South Salem High respectively, selected the workshop topics. These topics aim to help teenagers navigate adulthood, covering personal finances, starting a business or college, maintaining health, identifying personal strengths and interests, and goal setting.
