ROCKY POINT, N.C. (WECT) – The pews were full on Friday night at Mount Moriah AME church in Rocky Point. All of the people there came to watch a documentary called “The Wilmington 10: Pardons of Innocence.” The film highlighted the story of the Wilmington 10, made up of nine young black men and one white woman, who were wrongfully convicted of conspiracy and arson back in 1971. Each of the members served 10 years in prison before Amnesty International appealed those convictions.
