Wildlife officer rescues deer entangled in dog run cable

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) recently rescued a mule deer buck that had become entangled in a dog run cable in someone’s yard. According to an X post from CPW Southwest Region, wildlife officer Luke Clancy responded to the report of the buck with its antlers tangled in the steel cable. The officer had to dart and tranquilize the deer to get close enough to free it. The buck lay down after the tranquilizer kicked in, and Officer Clancy and some others were able to cut away the steel cable.
