Investigation Underway After Body Found in Congaree River:
Authorities have revealed preliminary information about a body discovered in the Congaree River on Saturday afternoon.

Calhoun County Sheriff Thomas Summers and Coroner Donnie Porth issued a joint statement on Thursday identifying the deceased as 45-year-old Eddie Leon Norris of Leesville, found along the river in the Sandy Run area. An autopsy conducted by Newberry Pathology on Wednesday has not yet led to conclusive findings, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Lab is conducting a toxicology report.
Sheriff Summers stated that, based on current evidence, foul play is not suspected, but investigations continue to determine the cause and manner of Norris’s death.
