With a rainy Sunday expected in Southwest Florida, the PGA Tour announced the final round of the Chubb Classic will be shortened to nine holes.

The field for the now 45-hole championship will play Holes 1-4 and 14-18 at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples. Groups of three will all start Sunday’s round on No. 1. Tee times will run from 7:15-11:25 a.m.

The Golf Channel will air Sunday’s final round telecast on tape delay from 3-5:30 p.m.

Friday: Rocco Mediate holds three-shot lead after first round of Chubb Classic

The PGA Tour Champions schedule rules out a potential Monday finish because golfers will be traveling to Morocco for the Trophy Hassan II which begins Thursday.

Canada’s Stephen Ames shot an 8-under 64 Saturday to move to 13-under for the tournament, three shots better than former Naples resident and Calusa Pines Golf Club member Rocco Mediate. Four players (Paul Broadhurst, Mark Hensby, Ernie Els and Alex Cejka) are tied for third place at 9-under heading into Sunday.

Gates will open at 7 a.m. with hospitality stations opening at 9:30 a.m. through the conclusion of play. For fans who redeemed their Sunday tickets for Saturday grounds admission, those tickets will be available for redemption Sunday.
