I am very busy here in Hillsboro, Oregon, and our Valley as a Realtor, Community Leader, and Historian. One of the things I did to connect our history and community in 2018 was start a Facebook group called We Remember Hillsboro. The goal is to connect locals, find and save photos and other artifacts, and provide a virtual community for those who wish to remember and share with each other. It has worked very well with our group gathering hundreds of photos and stories about old Hillsboro and the Tualatin Valley. We have connected lost friends and loved ones, returned lost items to their rightful owners, and so much more! Many of our posts have led to hundreds of interactions. Slowly, our membership has grown- from 1,000 to 3,000, and then to 6,000. This week, we added an incredible 400 new members thanks to 1 set of photos of Hillsboro’s longtime favorite restaurant, A&W drive in!
