13 evacuated, firefighter hospitalized following early morning fire in Largo

LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — A firefighter was hospitalized and 13 people were evacuated following a fire, Largo Fire Rescue said.

Around 2 a.m., Saturday morning, crews responded to a structure fire located at 1295 Church Street.

Fire rescue said 13 people were evacuated and are receiving treatment from the Red Cross.

One person was treated on scene, and a firefighter was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The firefighter has since been released.

Largo Fire Rescue said the origin and cause of this fire remains an ongoing investigation.
