LUBBOCK, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation said Indiana Avenue and Slide Road drivers can expect traffic changes next week at Loop 88 as work to build the new eastbound Loop frontage road intersections continues.

TxDOT said on February 20 construction crews will shift Indiana Avenue traffic onto the eastern half of the intersection. Slide Road traffic will also be shifted onto the western half of the intersection late next week.

At both intersections, northbound traffic will have one left-turn lane, one through lane and one through/right-turn lane. According to TxDOT, southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane, but drivers will continue to have the option to drive on through Slide or to turn onto east or westbound Loop 88.

TxDOT said drivers can expect the traffic pattern to be in place for several weeks, and should anticipate delays and consider using an alternate route around the work zone.
