LAKE ELSINORE, CA (LAI) – A 20-year-old man suspected of sexually assaulting a minor in Riverside County while released from custody on bail was arrested today. Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Investigations Bureau and Special Enforcement Team personnel initiated an investigation in December following reports of a runaway juvenile, as per the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The investigation uncovered that Emilio Ronquillo, a resident of Riverside, aided the minor in running away and sheltered the victim for two days before returning the minor home. “Ronquillo was later arrested and booked into jail for sexual assault against a minor; however, Ronquillo posted bail and was released from custody,” stated the sheriff’s department.
Subsequently, another juvenile victim came forward in January, reporting they too were sexually assaulted by Ronquillo. Ronquillo was apprehended and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center Friday on suspicion of multiple felony counts of sexual assault with a minor and committing a felony while out on bail.
