Thanks to the Oregon Business Resource Center, Adam Johnson’s company is attracting new customers and poised for future success
Like most businesses, the Oregon Table Company struggled during COVID.
In 2019, Adam Johnson, a Marine veteran of the Iraq War (2009-2010), had started the Oregon Table Company as a way to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind tables with live edges from trees fallen in urban areas. Being in the sustainability sector, he was able to find a useful purpose for trees that would otherwise become sawdust. From custom furniture to outdoor kitchens, Johnson’s Oregon Table Company had found a unique niche of creating timeless furniture and wood products by up-cycling local trees destined for the woodchipper.
But with the impact of COVID, suddenly Johnson was scrambling. His sawmill was delayed. The cost of lumber increased which also delayed production. He couldn’t meet face-to-face with his customers. Suddenly, just as his business was getting going his sales started to languish.
