Plans in the works for new monument at McIntire Road intersection

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Artists, community leaders, and descendants of Sacajawea gathered at the Jefferson School to discuss new ways to memorialize their ancestors. “We’re looking back into the past, reflecting on the present, and envisioning for the future,” Visionary Remembering Symposium organizer Meesha Goldberg said,” We talked about the Charlottesville monuments, their removal, and the different monument projects that have been going on in wake of the removal to envision a culture that’s supportive of diverse peoples.”
