Boston Mills, known as “Helltown,” was once a thriving community in Summit County, established in 1806. It gained prominence after the Ohio & Erie Canal’s construction in 1827, boasting various businesses and manufacturing facilities. However, in the 1970s, the US government evicted residents for the creation of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, leading to the town’s abandonment. This action sparked numerous urban legends, including government cover-ups and Satanic activities, adding an eerie allure to the town’s remains.
Fallsville – The Town That Time Forgot
Settled in the 1820s, Fallsville was once supported by a corn mill, the only one in the area. Despite plans for expansion, the town’s growth stagnated, and by 1893, with the death of its last resident, Andrew Payton, it was completely abandoned. Today, the town, particularly its central Methodist church, is a popular destination for hunters and explorers.
