DENVER (KDVR) — More than 24,000 meals that would have ended up in the garbage or landfill have been saved in Denver thanks to an app that allows customers to purchase extra food from restaurants at the end of a business day.
The app is now available in Denver, so local foodies can help cut back on food waste by purchasing food from their favorite spots at only a fraction of the costs.
There are a lot of good options at Local Jones Restaurant in Cherry Creek.

“We’re a classic American restaurant serving up traditional comfort American-focused food,” Daniel Young Executive Chef Daniel Young said.
The delicious food they serve keeps people coming back. With more people coming in, that means Young and his staff have to make extra food, and that sometimes means leftovers.
“Sometimes you prepare too much food for guests, or you don’t sell as much as you expect or a party cancels,” he said.
It used to be an unavoidable and unpredictable loss, until now. The app, Too Good To Go , is free to download.
