Woman wanted for first-degree murder in North Carolina; $2,000 reward offered

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Police in Fayetteville say they are looking for a woman in a murder case.

Officers announced Friday around 11 a.m. that Heather Shontell Lindsay, 33, was wanted, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.

Police said Lindsay was wanted on a charge of first-degree murder. The case involved was not included in the news release.

Officers said that no one should try to confront Lindsay, although they did not say she was armed and dangerous.

“DO NOT take any police action,” police said in the news release. CBS 17 has reached out to Fayetteville police to learn about the case in which Lindsay is wanted.

The most recent killing in Fayetteville took place on Valentine’s Day around 7 p.m. at the Time Saver gas station at 5555 Murchison Road, Fayetteville police said. In that case, Donte Lucas, 36, was shot in the head and later died at Cape Fear Valley Hospital, police said Thursday morning.
