Woman charged with Neglect of Dependent after CPS gets involved

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office charged an Evansville woman after they say poor living conditions were discovered at her residence along with Child Protective Services getting involved.

Officials state deputies were dispatched to the 1700 block of Belvidere Drive on Saturday in reference to a CPS Standby.

Officials say Jme Funk, 28, answered and after allegedly being allowed in, deputies say a tremendous odor of cat urine and feces could be smelled and noticed clothing scattered all over the living room floor, food crumbs, empty food containers, trash with food caked to the floor, dishes piled in the sink and dirty pots and pans on the stove to where it was not usable.

Deputies also say a couch had multiple rips in the cushions and the filling was scattered around the living room floor along with four cats that were using the bathroom that wasn’t functional and the children’s room as the living quarters and litter box.
