In a concerning incident, Rialto Police arrested a father for engaging in vandalism, commonly known as “tagging,” while under the influence of alcohol, with his teenage stepson present in the vehicle, police said.
The event unfolded in the 700 block of W. Baseline Road when vigilant officers observed an individual actively spray-painting the block wall surrounding the West Valley Water District, police said. Disturbingly, the suspect’s juvenile stepson was witnessing the act from their car, police added.
Prompt and decisive action by law enforcement led to the immediate detention of the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Carlos Nunez, a resident of the City of Rialto, police said. Subsequent investigation revealed that Nunez not only arrived at the location under the influence of alcohol but also possessed spray paint and a permanent marker, police added.
Carlos Nunez now faces serious charges, including Felony Vandalism (PC 594(b)(1)), Child Endangerment (PC 273(a)), and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (VC 23152(a)). He was promptly arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
