Harlem and Hononegah earn top-ten finishes at IHSA girls’ state bowling tournament

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Harlem and Hononegah entered Saturday’s final sessions of the girls’ state bowling tournament within striking distance of the top, but neither one was able to quit get there. Both finished strong though at the Cherry Bowl. Harlem finished in fifth place in the team standings and Hononegah finished in seventh place. Joliet West won the team championship.

Two local bowlers earned All-State honors by finishing in the top 12 individually. Harlem sophomore Allison Roberts finished in ninth place with a 209.1 average for the weekend’s 12 games. Hononegah junior Emilee Mullranin finished in 12th place with a 208.5 average.

Hononegah senior Cassidy Davenport was the next best local individual in 17th place with a 203.8 average. Freeport had several individuals perform well. Senior Cameren Plowman finished 20th (202.4 avg.). Junior Diem Beach finished in 29th place (199.4 avg.)

Guilford had two individuals on the lanes. Junior Alexis Aumann finished in 35th place (196.8 avg.) and sophomore Sarah Legoo was right behind her in 36th place (195.2 avg.)
