Weather alert issued for lake effect snow in Central NY Saturday evening

The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 6:04 p.m. on Saturday for lake effect snow until 7 p.m. for Oneida, Onondaga and Madison counties. “At 6:02 p.m., a lake effect snow band was stretched across northern Onondaga County into southern Oneida County. Several embedded heavier snow showers will impact the Syracuse and Utica areas over the next hour or two, dropping visibility to less than a half mile at times,” according to the weather service.
