Local Yorkville Resident Faces Multiple Charges After Disturbance in Oswego Home

A Yorkville man, Walter King, has been charged with multiple offenses after an incident at an Oswego residence in Kendall County, Illinois. On January 27, 2024, King allegedly entered an apartment on Light Rd in Oswego and threatened the residents. One resident had a protective order against King, who left before Kendall County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation and reviewed the case with the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, King faces multiple charges, including Home Invasion, Residential Burglary, Criminal Trespass to Residence, Violation of an Order of Protection, Endangering the Life of a Child, Criminal Damage to Property, Aggravated Assault, Theft, and additional counts of Violation of an Order of Protection.

On February 8, 2024, a warrant was issued for King’s arrest. He was arrested on February 14, 2024, by the United States Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. After his arrest, King appeared in court and was ordered to remain in custody at the Kendall County Jail until his next court date.
