Virginia Beach Feb 18 Weekly Crime Report: 1309 Incidents and 12 Crime Stories
During the last week, Virginia Beach reported a total of 1309 crime cases. The majority of these cases, approximately 50%, were categorized as ‘Other’. The next most common crime was ‘Theft’, representing around 12% of the total cases, followed by ‘Suspicious Situation’ and ‘Assault’ with 9% and 7% respectively. ‘Domestic Related’ and ‘Trespass’ cases each accounted for nearly 5% of the total crimes, while ‘Arrest’, ‘Vandalism’, ‘Hit & Run’ and ‘Burglary’ made up the remainder. The least frequent crimes were ‘Shooting’ and ‘Disturbance’, with only a handful of cases reported. The high number of ‘Other’ crimes, coupled with the relatively low numbers of serious crimes like ‘Shooting’, indicates a diverse crime landscape in the place. However, the presence of violent crimes such as ‘Assault’ and ‘Domestic Related’ cases shows that there are areas of concern that need to be addressed.
