Polar plungers jump into the water for Special Olympics Wisconsin

MONONA, Wis. (WMTV) – Brave souls took an icy dip in Monona on Saturday for Wisconsin’s 25th Annual Polar Plunge series supporting Special Olympics Wisconsin. While it was 19 F outside, it felt like 7 F. Despite the frigid temperatures, plungers jumped into the Yahara River. Special Olympics Wisconsin Board of Directors Member Chris Leemon has participated in 24 out of the 25 plunges. He said the tradition and fun energy has him coming back every year.
