ISLANDTON, S.C. (WSAV) – The former estate of convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh is now under contract for $1,000,000.
The buyer plans to turn the 21-acre property known as Moselle into a horse farm, according to J.P. King Auction Company.
“J.P. King is excited to have secured a buyer who is going to fully utilize and repurpose this wonderful property,” said Trey Perman, CEO of the J.P. King Auction Company. “Our online auction process for this luxury property was successful in that it helped find both the market and the market price for the seller and buyer.”

The buyer, whose name is being withheld at their own request, is said to be an out-of-towner who is familiar with the area.
The estate was previously sold to James A. Ayer and Jeffrey L. Godley in March 2023.
The listing does not include the dog kennels, the site where Alex Murdaugh killed his wife and youngest son, Maggie and Paul, in 2021.
