Week 12: New Mexico 2A District 5 High School Hoops Recap

February 12th – February 17th

Big shake ups in the district this past week, including the second district game between Mesa Vista and Escalante, as well as the second game between McCurdy and Mora.

District 5 Game

Mora Rangers – 62

Questa Wildcats – 25

The Mora Rangers were fourth in the district going into this week, but if the 2A state playoffs began on this Thursday, the Rangers would be the 14th seed. That speaks to the depth of District 5; maybe the toughest district in Class 2A this season. With a 10-11 record overall and 3-3 in the district, Mora is still very much in the thick of things.

The Rangers led 32-8 at the half. Questa was able to hit a few shots in the second half, but the game was far out of reach at that point.
