The cuts are a response to expiring federal stimulus funds, declining student enrollment, and lack of additional state funding. The district’s Superintendent, Dr. Angélica Ramsey, called on Texas legislators to consider the impacts on the state’s children and advocated for more funding during a public plea last Tuesday.
