What’s open and what’s closed in Minnesota on Presidents’ Day 2024

Presidents’ Day falls on Monday, Feb. 19 this year. Expect some public services to be closed to mark the federal holiday, though others will maintain normal operations.

Government services

Most federal, state, county and city offices, including the courts, will be closed Monday, aside from emergency services.

Postal services

U.S. Post Offices are closed on Feb. 19 , and mail won’t be delivered. However, Express and Priority mail should still be available. And UPS and FedEx packages will still be delivered, although there are some modified services.

Public schools

Most public schools will be closed across Minnesota for President’s Day.

Transit

​​Metro Transit is making no changes to its regular schedule for Presidents’ Day. If you use another transit provider, check before traveling as there may be service changes.

Parking

Meters in Minneapolis and St. Paul won’t be enforced on President’s Day, though there may still be enforcement at meters operated by Minneapolis Parks and Recreation, the University of Minnesota and private entities, such as hospitals.
